Soft Aurora bracelet and bead crochet piece

Hi, it has been a while, but... I am here. I have been really busy, we are buying a sort of house like a terraced one, the school year for my kids and me (as I am a teacher) has just started, I keep walking my dog for longer walks, so life is hectic, but am still all in beads and I enjoy every moment of it ;) The main thing is to avoid stress, feel calm and peaceful. I am doing my best.

Onto beads... this project was born in June, it has been happily sold to my colleague who is a sweet and nice fan of my jewellery pieces and things. She gave me a handfull of stones, saying that her bracelet keeps breaking and she is loosing it but she loves it nevethertheless, So I decided to make it into a bead embroidered piece  she will not certainly loose it now. I hope ;D Here I tried bulging or raised bead embroidery as in my recent green necklace. The leaves are made like in this style.
 I called it Soft Aurora. So I think  completely transformed it and tried a newish  for me technique (you see in leaves here).

The soft leather backing is super nice for the touch...

However my summer passion was (it's a pity to say was...) bead crochet as  it opens fun possibilities, so I will be continuing with it in autumn, too. I hope to squeeze bead crocheting in into my busy busy lifestyle (as all working moms). Oh and I can not stop wearing my golden set :)

It is nice and fun, it is not too long (I lacked the beads).

Sveiki. Senokai nerašiau čia. Labai daug užsiėmimų kaip ir visoms dirbančioms mamoms. Tačiau nepamirštu biserio ar papuošalų kūrimo :) Pirmas darbas Švelni Aurora gimė, kuomet kolegė, kuri nusipirko šį papuošalą, prieš tai atnešė saujelę akmenukų su prašymu kažkaip pataisyti... aš tai padariau panaudojau iškilų siuvinėjimą- lapeliai atlikti šia technika. Pridėjau akmenukų ir sagų užsegimui ir štai ;)

Antrasis papuošalas mano mėgstamas ir dėvimas rinkinukas auksinukas- aišku aukso nerasit ten tik čekišką biserį ;) Nėriau vašeliu pagal schemą, pagelbėjo, kai į telefoną balsu įrašau biserio ant siūlo užnėrimo eilę. Čia yra 6 karoliukų raportas arba apimtis, sujungus siūlą į ratą. Oi...tikiuosi nersiu su karoliukais vašeliu ir rudenį taip pat, tai būtų toks All in Beads tikslas :)

Soutache and beadwork bangle

Here is some bead work at last....

I have watched wonderful and easy to follow Jill Wisemans's tutorial Festival Lights Bracelet (here) and I have  made a bangle with twin (like duo) beads, but it was too flimsy so I made another one joined it with soutache piece and saved the day :)

I used grey twin beads, and Chech tiny black with silver lining beads and some sort of svarowskis- it is a great destashing project- I didn't buy anything had everything in my bead boxes (I am going to stop hoarding beads- I hope ;)))

Festival Lights Bangle inspired set :) the earrings are totally random just strung something :)

Colour school series: 1. "Africa in me" - necklace

Hi, I have recentley started following a volunteer sort of little school on facebook on colour theory in practice- it is fun. As the teacher sets us a new challenge once a week.

This first challenge was to take a handful of details stones or gemstones preferably colourful, pick one randomnly and do something with it.

Then my son  helped me out and picked the central coconut detail. Unfortunatelly probably for me,,, who knows.

DIY mittens with bead decorations + a keychain

Hello, just one more quick update on my sewing adventures ;) I have made two pairs of mittens out of an old thrifted and washed sweater (one for me and for the friend as a gift)- do they look like oven mits? :D I hope notttt.... I like my mits as they are beautifu and hopefully I won't loose them because I am always loosing gloves ... all over the place ;)

It was quite easy I used my old mit as a guide, made it bigger. Although the fabric isn't exeptionally good as there is only 30 per cent of wool- but it has been my first try ;)

I have cut the shape used the hem of the sweater as the natural end- if you will be doing remember to leave the ends longer- it is much cosier for your wrists ;)

Plastic bottle caps not like beads but... (+a tutorial)

Hi once again,

I have helped my daughter's kindergarten group to take part in bottle caps collecting and reusing into a sort of work of art competition. The kids are 5 years old, and we have a very eager and nice kids' teacher Nijolė Karalienė. :)

I have made a spider and she and the kids have decorated the board with caps.
A mini tutorial how I made this quick spider- octopus to decorate the bottle cap mosaic board:)
You need:

•  fabric
• sewing machine
• pins,threads, sharp scissors
• stuffing (you can use cotton wool or old scraps of fabric)
• plastic bottle caps

Take your fabric, I used hand woven linen (totally from my stash- made by my grandmother in law (can I say about my hubby's granny?). Use the shape which you want, I used a dish to cut a circle.

Then cut the long strips along all length from selvage to salvege and sew in side out sort of legs, then turn outside. Stuff with the stuffing, I used scissors.

You have the number of legs that you need, I made 8, the picture of four:

Then pin the legs to the side of your circle, sew one side then the other:
 
Turn inside out- here you have a gap, later I sewid by hand with an invisible stich:

 Take the bottle caps, make holes, fasten them to the spider I used beads on top. So here is our spider at last with some bottle caps, then I glued with hot glue gun the bottle caps on top:
