Colour school 3: Trying out a butterfly bead weave

Hi, I surrender to butterfly fascination or attraction- I am amazed how beaders achieve this regular beauty. Far from my ability ;) It has been my attempt to tame bright colours. The various schemes of butterflies are on Pinterest here , here, and  here.

The colour school post was about that it is possible to take two or three primary colours (yellow, red, or blue) and match them with black, white or grey. For an unexpected brightness and vitality.

I have made the little blue polimer beads myself. Rolled in salt then baked. :) For the wings I used here toho beads, preciosa and chinese ones after considerable culling. The wings are made in brick stich then attached to the body. i have used wire to strengthen the body and wings. :)

Here are some inspirational pictures of butterlies:

In conclusion, it was tougher to make than I imagined, but  I like the end result a lot :)

Have a beadful day, take care

Colour school series: 1. "Africa in me" - necklace

Hi, I have recentley started following a volunteer sort of little school on facebook on colour theory in practice- it is fun. As the teacher sets us a new challenge once a week.

This first challenge was to take a handful of details stones or gemstones preferably colourful, pick one randomnly and do something with it.
A selection of some stones and details
Then my son  helped me out and picked the central coconut detail. Unfortunatelly probably for me,,, who knows.
I came up first with this:
Then with this
Africa in me
Africa in me
PS other pieces were very gorgeous by various beaders-girls- artists in no particular order....

A necklace Tenderness- let's go cream ;)

Hi dears ;) All my best wishes who is reading. I haven't sorted my camera yet, but will try to post what I am up to.

I have created a new necklace and earing to go with it ;) Based on this youtube tutorial by Potomac bead company - here and of course there is a lot info on bead crocheting basics .

i have called the nceklace "Tenderness", there is bead crocheted chain- i cannot still master this art the way I would like to...but maybe it is in the future. I have used RAW for the pendant and earings, herrinbone for the bail and brick stich for the tiny flowers ;)

Have a wonderful day and jump into your beads :)

Two new pieces

Hi - oh i feel so much better after Christmas, all ,my creative energy is coming back, I don't know what it was- cannot understand. However, it isn't that I don't like Christmas, but this period just makes me numb in terms of jewellery making- it is as it is. Anyways.... two newer pieces (sorry for the poor quality my better camera hasn't been repaired yet. )

A set with polimer clay faces ("The Lady")
I have included toho beads, blue pearls, "swarovski", square beads. It is bead embroidery and herringhbone :)
The second piece is called "The Lady in  black and white" I did a bit of herringbone , then just strung some beads and joined them with the leather string. Of course there is soutache ;)

Happy beading just enjoy little pieces ;)

Summer Dream necklace

Hi so soon again, it is a wonderful summer, at day time I take care of the kids..cook, we go somewhere, swim in the river, make a pizza at home, play cards, play with Legos (as much as have enough patience). I dragged them to the stadium today ran just 2 miles and did some exercises, yet onto the beading....

I was insipred by my outfit- mint and lemon colour combo- so I have come up with this fringe necklace. I used a leftover chain, Chech seed beads 11 and 8 and an old button for a clasp. Herringbone for the base and chain.I am quite happy with the result, this type of necklace is fast to make, flowy and flattering to wear. ;)

So a fringe is fun to wear- flirtatious and nice :)

Neons are in fashion there is a great picture collection on Neons at Rebel Soul a very talanted Lithuanian beader :)

Happy beading get inspired by your outfits ';)

RAW details for an old clutch

I have completed my decorated clutch. It is in RAW (right angle weave), it was the last part of a two month challenge. I feel quite happy and exhausted at the same time, so many beading  techniques I have tried for the last two months.

For this particular clutch I 'll add a strap, will show then too. All in all,  I am very glad how it worked out, it is really more ":me" now- it screams I LIKE BEAAAADSSSSSSS I do like them. :)

I was beading the details separately (just eyballed the meassurments) :) then stiched them to the seams. Very easy way to fasten a decorative element. It took me about four days, of course I wasn't beading all day long. \
So as I promised I added a strap and a decoration- a bow ;) on the small buckle-

The bow up closer. It has been done in brick stich by increase on both sides then sewn together with tila in the middle. The strap beginning i did in herringbone, reinforeced a lot. Still I think I cannot put a lot in that purse, the strap attachment needs to be stronger- but for a phone and wallet it will do ;) I hope. i am very glad that I have made something useful and wearable.

The inspiration for the bow, the bows are done perfectly here so evenly. ;) Here is her facebook page Atikute

Good luck beading and decorating something you feel bored with ;) G.
