Colour school 3: Trying out a butterfly bead weave

Hi, I surrender to butterfly fascination or attraction- I am amazed how beaders achieve this regular beauty. Far from my ability ;) It has been my attempt to tame bright colours. The various schemes of butterflies are on Pinterest here , here, and  here.

The colour school post was about that it is possible to take two or three primary colours (yellow, red, or blue) and match them with black, white or grey. For an unexpected brightness and vitality.

I have made the little blue polimer beads myself. Rolled in salt then baked. :) For the wings I used here toho beads, preciosa and chinese ones after considerable culling. The wings are made in brick stich then attached to the body. i have used wire to strengthen the body and wings. :)

Here are some inspirational pictures of butterlies:

In conclusion, it was tougher to make than I imagined, but  I like the end result a lot :)

Have a beadful day, take care

Two new pieces

Hi - oh i feel so much better after Christmas, all ,my creative energy is coming back, I don't know what it was- cannot understand. However, it isn't that I don't like Christmas, but this period just makes me numb in terms of jewellery making- it is as it is. Anyways.... two newer pieces (sorry for the poor quality my better camera hasn't been repaired yet. )

A set with polimer clay faces ("The Lady")
I have included toho beads, blue pearls, "swarovski", square beads. It is bead embroidery and herringhbone :)
The second piece is called "The Lady in  black and white" I did a bit of herringbone , then just strung some beads and joined them with the leather string. Of course there is soutache ;)

Happy beading just enjoy little pieces ;)

Impressions from the Town Hall Square

Hi- sorry for the absence ;(
A knitted eco Santa is holding his Santa's cap
Just a quick reminder to myself that I do have a blog- ;). I am all into sewing- but yet... some pictures from our trip to the Christmas tree in the town hall square here in Kaunas, in Lithuania- but no beads ;).

This Christmas tree it is a real work of art- was made well,  it was knitted of plastic bags- later they all will be recycled- hopefully. Just amazing view- the created Angels are rotating, they have been made by individual artists. Just some quick pictures from our trip. Wonderful work from the artists and volunteers....
It's inside the tree- rotating angels

We're outside- impressive ornaments all over ;)

Enjoy winter no matter how cold and horrible it can be (today the first great snow fell)....

A bead embroidery set "Winter Dream"

I have taken part in a small competition- it had a name "A wonderful piece of jewellery for the fraction of the price".

I didn't get the prize but came 12th- that's quite good for me as I have never taken part in any such competitions. My piece is really cheap- the price of materials- is just about 1.5 dollars- as the stones were the gift, somethings were bought in bulk, soutache part and a bit toho beads cost here a bit... So really cheapy cheap.. just hard work. :)
A necklace and earings which I called "A Wnter Dream"
Soutache necklace- Aufritte (Lithuania)

Here are the prize winners- just gorgeous.
Frivolite brooch- by Saromania (Lithuania)

Necklace- by Benderiute (Lithuania)

Happy beading and taking part in competitions surprise yourself!
