Brick stich bracelet

I am starting to get into bead weaving or stiching  from bead embroidery- as I for the next two months I am going to learn seed bead stiches.

I am immensely looking forward to that, the women in this virtual class are experienced so it will be a shame to do anyhow- oh I will have to try hard. So the studies in this so called academy will start on the first of  March, for a while I am just stiching something.

The idea for this bracelet  is taken from the Beadwork magazine. I have called it Snake's bling :) I have used an old brick stich piece. Also, I have used some agate stones, fire polished beads (or like) and Toho beads- two colours :)

I have drawn  a rough sketch of the round components, they are so fast to make :)

Have a nice day and happy beading ;0D

Happy Valentine's (earings and a bracelet)

Though it is cold outside, for some people this day is meaningful. I saw a young man caryying flowers and dragging a huge teddy in his hands, I got a present in a shop, gave flowers for my granny, wrote my hubby a postcard (longer ago).. It is  a lovely day ;D

My jewellery for this day - Karie Slade's Gumdrops in the Garden- I don't have gumdrops, took simple round stones... And the joining of the flowers is made a bit differently. This is preformed in brick stich Thanks Karie for the pattern. :)

This is a wonderful interview with Karrie at bead circle .

Happy beading and trying a new pattern :) I wonder what to try now?

A bead embroidery set "Winter Dream"

I have taken part in a small competition- it had a name "A wonderful piece of jewellery for the fraction of the price".

I didn't get the prize but came 12th- that's quite good for me as I have never taken part in any such competitions. My piece is really cheap- the price of materials- is just about 1.5 dollars- as the stones were the gift, somethings were bought in bulk, soutache part and a bit toho beads cost here a bit... So really cheapy cheap.. just hard work. :)
A necklace and earings which I called "A Wnter Dream"
Soutache necklace- Aufritte (Lithuania)

Here are the prize winners- just gorgeous.
Frivolite brooch- by Saromania (Lithuania)

Necklace- by Benderiute (Lithuania)

Happy beading and taking part in competitions surprise yourself!

Scraps to something good: a pendant and a ring

Where do you put your beads? Do you throw them away? Do you sort them back to the containers?  I am sure there are some left after a bigger project... now I've got into the habit to do a little project in the same or similar colour scheme- so i decided to make pendants or rings. Those little thingies are useful as:
 •  gifts,
 • as practice of new patterns
 • as little pieces of jewellery for oneself
This is a pendant I made:
Here are my two pieces a ring (I made earlier) .
Tose are little news from me- now I am thinking what to make out of these nice beads: :)

A Bead embroidered heavy pincushion tutorial

I have made another of the lovely pincushions.  I extremely like making them. It is my first one. This one is for tacklethatbeadstash JANUARY CHALLENGE.
Taken from Operation tackle that bead Stash

I don't know if it will suit because it is not jewellery. The colours are blue, gold, green and purple. I have used 12 kinds of seed beads, some sequins and some glass beads :)

How do I make them:

You need:
 • a small container
 • a pebble (something heavy)
 • some kids' dough (or a scrap of newspaper)
 • some cotton
 • a scrap of material (can sew before hand, can be appliqued)
 • a bead embroidered piece
 • scissors, a needle, some leather :)
Take a small container, a tinlet/plastic or cardboard boxy/ etc. Measure a piece which you will have to bead embroider.

Then embelish a piece of material with bead embroidery, or croos stich embroidery whatever your fantasy is up to on that day :)
After that fill your container with something for heaviness- a pebble for example.

Surround your container with the material and sew it together, I glue it to the container, as well for extra strength and durability. I wrap it with a string for hardening.
Sew your scrap however you want- you can take a matchy matchy material ;) or a cpontrasting colour.
Wrap a piece of cotton with it and sew together underneath.

Put it onto the contaiiner sew together, fill the litle gaps with beads if necessary. I also embelish the bottom with leather sew around with beads for neatess.

And here is the finished pincushion.

Happy beading ;)

A necklace "Bird's flight"

I made this necklace a while a go and gave it for my mom- it was sort of an addition to the Christmas present. I had had an old necklace just chips of a red stone- so i wanted to make it alive to personalize it and put myself innto it. ) I hope my mum would wear it.

Happy beading,

A little face mania

Some time ago in November I guess, we with one wonderful beader from Chech Republic Ringaile exchanged something into polymer clay faces, made by her (this her blog http://craftnichedili.blogspot.com/) .
I got from her four things- two grey faces, a set of 3 green little faces (I haven't done anything with them yet) and a mother of earth which I have coloured into a different colour.

This is the first work- a braclet : A Winter Dream

And this is my second baby, this was a gift for my dear friend: A Sleeping Beauty

They are very similar, yet I love them both. :) Why is this craziness about sleeping faces? They are very versatile and beautiful... I wish I could make some myself....

Happy beading,
G.

Lietuviškas įrašiuks- išverčiau karoliukintojo priesakus naujiems metams.

interweave
Išversiu kelis  karoliukintojo (beader's) priesakus naujiems metams:

1.Pasižadu susitvarkyti savo resursus (parašyta studio- manau reta kuri galim pasigirti atskiru kambariu skirtu vien šiam hobiui), kad surasčiau prireikus, ir laiku, prieš prisipirkdama dar ko jau turiu.

Christmas diy Swap

Before wishing everyone happy holidays, I just want to metion one swap where I have gladly taken part at. It was in the handicraft forum Auksarankes auksarankes. I entered into 25 litas challenge (it is about 10 dollar challenge) that meant I had to make a gift in the swap worth not less than 10 dollars of materials. So I got my gift reciever Rebeke here is her FB page she asked for something felted, and allowed bead embroidery so that is what I made for her:

Cosy felted slippers which I have already shown
A bead embroidery bracelet with textile flowers

And a bead embroidery necklace set:

To sum up, it is hard to make a present for someone so experienced and whom you don't know, yet it is a challenge, and a way for the creative juoices to flow out ;) I am still waiting for my Christmas gift to arrive by post. ;)

Happy holidays !
