HI hello I haven't been beading much I have new dog it has taken a lot of time ;)

Hi,  I haven't been writing as much as I would love to, of course. As we are getting into autumn I hope this bloggy of mine will be more productive, keeping my nail polish junkie's fingers crossed  :0) In reality I've been busy with my kids lately, as it's summer holidays for them.... Enough rambbling let's jump into it.

My tote bag nothing original ;( :

Up-cycled gift tote

A prepared smiley applique and my skirt

We needed a gift basket for a friend, so I thought... why not to make it a hand sewn tote, which could be used later for shopping or things like that.

I have had a circle skirt of gorgeous lovely soft wool fabric, I thought if I am not going to wear it so why not to use it for my projects.


So first I cut the paper pattern, I always loose them somewhere. Then I cut 2 pieces of the black material and as strap piece. I sewed the strap and made a smiley shaped applique.

I love appliques: here is my pinterest board for that applique-sewing  if someone is interested.

Pinned and bent the corners and sewed with a small small length stich slooowlyyyyyy

Here is my finished tote, it was a bit slouchy so I used some of these :

 didn't have any new ones or didn't find rather (embarrassed now....)




The final view : just put any gifts in side and to the party!!!

My sewing adventures: make-up bags

The summer is in its prime, I love this time. Usually I do some redecoration at home and travel- we went to Turkey and Latvia. My handicraft is suffering, but the hands are itching :) I am thinking about a quilt (partially a quilt- I will show when it is complete) for our master bedroom and bead work,of course. For now, some sewing:

The gift for a relative, a warm hearted lady from Ventspils (I enjoy making/sewing gifts- as they are faster than bead work). My machine sewn  make-up bags are made according to this pattern: easy flat bottomed make-up bag free pattern. 

I used some beads, some sequins, ribbon and a button for decorating. I used a thin interfacing for both the outer and inner fabrics. The fabric was totally given to me, I mean a gift by my mum-in-law. ;D (It is pretty cool when you lay your hands on some free fabric)

I would make something about the lining differently, I don't like that the sewing stitches can be seen, if you try, you will see

My recent sewing adventures

 I have got into sewing for the past three months more, I would like to share some things i have created, it is just a humble start for me. ;)











I got into teddy bears a bit, but didn't have enough passion for that, though a promise for my daughter has been made she needs another teddy too. This one was made from something of this : I have my little teddies board here on Pinterest: Teddies and dolls. Then I made three aprons with owl applique (as presents for my close ones).
The red and green one: 

The sort of blue, orange and brown, all my aprons are two sided some have pockets just one  doesn't.

I love the button details, for me personally making aprons with appliques is real fun, I get a bit creative with fabrics, I use a simple quilting stich on my Bernette sewing machine, trying to coordinate thread sometimes not.

Last but not least, my favourite part my pincushions: here I used buttons from a package kindly sent in exchange for a tutorial (it is coming up)  from K&C Supplies on Etsy (they sell zippers and buttons). I used cute buttons chevron one and patchworked one ;)

Here are all four pincushions (I have left one for myself - the others went (flew :)) as presents for my sewing courses classmates.

Wrapping up presents creatively and on the budget

Hello, long time has passed since I have posted anything here- my beads are patiently waiting ;) Hopefully. I could say that I apologize, but it is as it is. There is a nice post for not apologizing for not blogging - that is sort of my excuse- So Zo ..Do you know blog :)

I will try to catch up- I have seen on youtube how recycled flowers of bright paper, magazines, booklets, anything goes... can be made By jenniebellie - They were  an inspiration for me... ;) So if one wants to create a nice and unique decoration for the gift those flowers can be embelished with buttons, beads, scraps of fabric or ribbons.  I used a  hot glue gun for gluing everything, maybe E600 glue could be used. ;)

Here is the first wrapping for a giftcard. I used 4 doilies, a button, a recycled paper flower, gift wrap, cardboard as a base, plastic wrap for sort of framing making it higher a bit ;)

 Another was a gift for my friend- my sewed beach bag- so I think this one is very womanly, it was my second try ;) :I used ribbon, doilies, buttons, gift wrap paper. :)

I made this collage this morning :) I like this page a lot- there are a lot of free possibilities (layouts, patterns, adding text etc) - there aren't any paid ones- so it is really really cool.

As for  my picture of upcyscled corn can ;) I turned into my craft desk organizer for left over beads :) This is my original post here. There are similar projects on Pinterest (crafters' shrine ;))))

Scraps to something good: a pendant and a ring

Where do you put your beads? Do you throw them away? Do you sort them back to the containers?  I am sure there are some left after a bigger project... now I've got into the habit to do a little project in the same or similar colour scheme- so i decided to make pendants or rings. Those little thingies are useful as:

•  gifts, 
• as practice of new patterns
• as little pieces of jewellery for oneself
