A bead embroidery set "Violet Dream"

I have finished a bead embroidery set- VIOLET DREAM at last ;)

 My inspiration was gone... it has come or coming back  back at last ;)

My work in progress :) First, it looked like this:

Bead embroidery, semi precious stone in the centre- jasper, glued on crystals, custom dyed silk ribbons. ;)

 I have glued the embroidery to a thin cardboard, later glued to thin piece of leather and sewed around with beads.

Amber necklace

Hi ;) last week I changed my older amber piece- that is the only work I have done in amber, of course the pieces are small they  are glued and sewn to the surface.  Nowadays, if one goes to the Baltic sea coast, yo rarelly will find amber, maybe after the storm if you go hunting while waves are still wild... I have done it long time ago....Remembered my friend is by the sea.... how is she doing in this cold, is the sea stormy?

Here is my "Ambery" necklace- sead beads (including Chinese), amber, polimer clay beads, wooden beads green semi precious stones. The techniques- bead embroidery and raw for the strap. :)

Some new pieces- playing with wire crochet

I made the earings back in May. But I had one blue stone left, so I decided to make  a pendant, as not to be a wasteful person ;) . I have played a bit with wire crochet on the central part, the basis it is a ceramic button, that I bought with the kids we each chose one button. I liked the texture. I  used a brick stich for seed bead detail.

I used: a ceramic button, cut jadeite,  jaspes rondelles, wire, sequins, toho cylinder beads, rivolies, cheap swarovskies, size 15 toho beads. hematite beads, leather.

So here is "The Grass snake eyes".

RAW braceleet revisited

Hi long time it has been, I practically all week long bit by bit amidst other work was sitting at this bracelet, lacking beading speed totally, ;/ Yet i have finished correcting the bracerlet- as the client wanted it wider the earings bigger- so I did it :)

Down the memory lane: my bead embroidery

I have forgotten to put my all greatest bead embroidery pieces into one post, I created them about one year ago, they are not worn by me very often, but are in my jewellery box, always ready for some action ;)

My most favourite I just love it due to the ombre effect, it is very fashionable currently

Herringbone necklace

I have just started to do something with  herringbone stich, actually I know it quite a bit... In my inventory there is a bracelet, a rope and that is it. Yet this rope is very easy to make consists just of two beads, can be joined with any detail or stone- very light, quick and easy to make, can be in any colour. I liked it....
I have called it (Red shades of grey) :D

Right angle weave bracelet and earings

Inspired by the challenge on the virtual academy and our teacher Vitalija Velyviene- her FB page
The first topic is right angle weave (RAW). We had to come up with the earings and the bracelet if we had time :) The pattern goes like this:

I like this stich because it is drapy, very square, easy and fast to make and we can decorate it quiite easily. I like RAW very much. There are some initial photos

Brick stich bracelet

I am starting to get into bead weaving or stiching  from bead embroidery- as I for the next two months I am going to learn seed bead stiches.

I am immensely looking forward to that, the women in this virtual class are experienced so it will be a shame to do anyhow- oh I will have to try hard. So the studies in this so called academy will start on the first of  March, for a while I am just stiching something.

The idea for this bracelet  is taken from the Beadwork magazine. I have called it Snake's bling :) I have used an old brick stich piece. Also, I have used some agate stones, fire polished beads (or like) and Toho beads- two colours :)

 

I have drawn  a rough sketch of the round components, they are so fast to make :)

Christmas diy Swap

Before wishing everyone happy holidays, I just want to metion one swap where I have gladly taken part at. It was in the handicraft forum Auksarankes auksarankes. I entered into 25 litas challenge (it is about 10 dollar challenge) that meant I had to make a gift in the swap worth not less than 10 dollars of materials. So I got my gift reciever Rebeke here is her FB page she asked for something felted, and allowed bead embroidery so that is what I made for her:

To sum up, it is hard to make a present for someone so experienced and whom you don't know, yet it is a challenge, and a way for the creative juoices to flow out ;) I am still waiting for my Christmas gift to arrive by post. ;)

A necklace- A secret

Glad to be back with another post, it is nothing special just to show my most recent creation "The Secret".

The rope is in Russian Spiral- inspired by this post IB, the rope's tutorial is here Russian spiral  very lovely and easy to make, very soft and draping.

The stone is so mosaicy - very colourful and I used some bead embroidery to complement its colours.

A brown pink necklace and about a fringe

Hi,

I have completed a necklace- Blooming Earth (Besiskleidzianti Zeme in Lithuanian). I have seen the inspiration on this blog tacklethatbeadstash . It is great and the topic was pink, brown and cream. And beaders had to inlude flowers- you can join in too this last week.  So it was wonderful to be a part of it with my favourite medium- bead embroidery (loving it right now). I bead embroidered a shape which I have cut out of felted material (from tigershop ) I glue two - make a stiffer version, the backing is leather.

It can also be used as a lamp decoration :D

The most awsome and nice thing is to try something new- I tried here a  bit of raised bead embroidery and made the fringe- with a needle size 10 (very thin) and thinnest nymo thread .

All in all, the fringe makes it just wonderful, flowing and very extremely soft to touch. I like the effect of it.

I would like to talk somehow about the fringe as I have descovered it in fuller power just with this necklace, earlier I used it only as a part of earings, on a smaller scale. So it is just wonderful As Inspirational Beading IB )claims "Fringe is a beader's best friend" I completely agree with this point. We can see many fringes- a simple fringe, like I used; a leafy fringe (in the tutorial here- leafy fringe ), a double fringe from the book Amulet Obssession by B.Elbe (two fringes one on the other).

It isstill in fashion for 2012 so here are some examples:

There can be even a box with a fringe- there is an infinity of possibilities.
